Kate Recycles Blue Lace Erdem for Hannah Gillingham's Wedding

Kate, William and Pippa were all in attendance for the wedding of the Duchess' friend Hannah Gillingham in Suffolk. As per usual Kate went with a recycled frock, ostensibly to ensure attention would remain firmly on the bride. In this case K-Midd opted for the blue lace Erdem Cecile dress she wore during her Canada tour, accessorized with her blue suede pumps, Anya Hindmarch clutch, a great belt (we seriously heart the addition of this belt) and a cropped blue jacket (reportedly also a reworked Erdem, a similar jacket trimmed in a houndstooth print can be purchased at Matches).

Kate's fab studded belt is Alexander McQueen,
which was previously available for purchase on net-a-porter.com.

As for Pippa Middleton, when's the last time she hasn't looked a fool at a wedding? Taken apart the pieces of her outfit aren't offensive. Some are quite nice actually. There is a lot of spangly, sparkly, and gold, but who would expect anything less from Look at Me! Pippa. Still, we're not loving the whole ensemble. Also, just us or do the sisters seem to be sporting very similar footwear?

The beaming bride and her new husband.
Hannah's dress, however, is a little too Kate for our taste.

Kate Middleton Sports a Navy Tweed Rebecca Taylor Suit

Kate Middleton chose a navy blue tweed skirt suit for her appearance at an event honouring the Scott-Amundsen Centenary Race to the South Pole. It is from Rebecca Taylor's Sparkle Tweed Pre-Fall 2012-2012 collection. Kate accessorized with her standard Anya Hindmarch Marano clutch and blue suede pumps, and added a jewelled British Legion poppy brooch and pearl drop earrings.

We like this Rebecca Taylor suit in principle. The frayed edges, pretty flower appliques along the neckline and grosgrain ribbon detailing, but somehow on Kate's frame this outfit looks more old than classically whimsical. Are we alone here?

Update: You can pre-order on the Rebecca Taylor website.

Kate Middleton Wears Military-Inspired McQueen in Birmingham

Photo: Getty

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge were spotted out and about in Birmingham, meeting with area residents and families of the victims of the London riots. Kate's attire sombre enough, another military-inspired ensemble from Alexander McQueen (Pre Fall 2011). We'll just say, straight off the bat that this isn't our fave McQueen military look on Kate. We love the skirt, but we're thinking a little more simple on the blouse would have been good. Yes, a girl can have to many gold epaulets. And we're not entirely loving the match of the blue suede mystery pumps with this outfit, either.

You can see that Kate has done away with the belt and made the slits in the skirt much lower. The military silk-georgette blouse and the embellished wool crepe skirt are both available on net-a-porter.com. Kate also added her sapphire cabochon earrings (thought to be Tiffany) to the outfit.

Sartorial opinions aside, many have raised the question as to whether a military-inspired outfit--let alone one costing thousands--was really appropriate for the occasion. Kate's usually pretty diplomatic in what she wears, and conscious of the message she's sending, do you think this was a misstep?

Royal Tour of North America: Day 11 - Kate in Navy and White in L.A.

And we're baaack...to the navy and white, that is.

Can we be honest for a second, KMidd?
We'd be lying if we said we were feeling this outfit.
What with crochet being involved and all.
May be best to leave it at that.

We're not even sure why crochet gives us the shakes.
Probably because it gives us flashbacks of the
palazzo pants we sported in elementary school.

Kate's pleated white skirt is the Whistles Dobby Pleated Skirt, currently available at John Lewis. There are photos of the same navy and white crochet top that Kate is wearing floating around the interwebs that clearly show a Whistles label, but, to date the company is denying the shirt is theirs.

Cute, right?

Kate accessorized with her new diamond and sapphire earrings, as well
as those mystery navy pumps and nude clutch and a half-up bun 'do.

William and Kate were flown to Canada on the dime of the Canadian government, but it appears that they were on their own to find their way back. Rather than opting for a private jet the royal couple decided to fly commercial instead--albeit it in first class.

So, we think we'll take a little break to process all this Kate Mania (we've had enough of mystery nude clutches and unidentified ruffled blouses for now). We hope you'll join us as we continue to follow Kate Middleton's--rather, the Duchess of Cambridge's--style evolution in the months and years to come.

Kate Middleton's Navy Suede Pump Found?

We've been trying to ID the navy suede pumps that Kate Middleton has been sporting lately, but have come up pretty much empty. Prada, Choo, Sanderson, none seemed right. Then we happened on the above collage from the lovely Kate Middleton Style blog. An eagle eyed reader of the blog suggested that Kate's pumps may be the Belle and Mimi Suede Pointed Court Shoe from Barratts. They look like a pretty good match to us.

Kate's navy pumps also look similar to the Ralph Lauren Ceara Pointed Suede Pumps, although we're not sure if these come in navy. The purple is available on net-a-porter. We'd love to know what you think!

Royal Tour of North America: Day 5 - William and Kate Land in Yellowknife

Hair tamed and straightened, and back in a skirt (or dress), Kate Middleton arrived in Yellowknife this evening. Gone were the adorable humidity-havoced curls and jeggings and back was the polish we've come to expect from the Duchess of Cambridge.

Kate also wore the same Ted Baker trench, Kiki Mcdonough citrine drop earrings and mystery navy pumps she was seen sporting earlier in the day.

Royal Tour of North America: Day 5 - Kate's Nautical McQueen

Very nautical. Very Anne of Green Gables. That was Kate Middleton today in Prince Edward Island. The Duchess wore a white dress that featured navy stripes from Alexander McQueen.

The 20s inspired frock was previously worn by Sarah
Jessica Parker (in the opposite colourway) in 2006.

Kate's navy suede pumps remain a mystery.
The Duchess wore her hair in a ponytail and
accessorized with her diamond-and-sapphire earrings.

We're feeling this McQueen on Kate.
It's classic, but with a twist.

Happy Fourth of July!

Old School Stylings: Kate Middleton in Blue Brocade Coat at Nicholas van Cutsem's Wedding

Kate Middleton looked regal in cornflower blue at the 2009 wedding of Nicholas van Cutsem to Alice Hadden-Paton. Kate paired the blue brocade Jane Troughton coat with a silvery dress, white and blue floral hat by Jane Corbett, and a pair of mystery navy suede court shoes.

The coat-over-frock really is Kate's favoured wedding look and one that makes sense. Not only can she preserve the mystery of the dress underneath, but she can also get two looks in one--more conservative for church and a flirty dress for dancing later.

Kate was also seen wearing what looks like the Asprey button necklace, a citrine cocktail ring and a patterned blue leather frame clutch.
